One of the best parts about being a florist is the wonderful stories you hear from people and how flowers play such a big part in their lives.
We recently received an email from Yvonne, who lives in America with her husband. This lovely lady grew up in Henfield and after meeting her beau Douglas in San Francisco, came back to the UK in 1972 to get married at Trinity Methodist Church in Storrington. She sent us a copy of her wedding photo and a copy of the original invoice for her wedding flowers from Linfields in Ashington, which she has kept as a momento.
They couldn’t make it back to the UK, so to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Yvonne asked us if we could provide some arrangements that matched the original wedding flowers. Also, Yvonne’s father was in the RAF and spent time in the RAF Care Home in Storrington.
We created this beautiful pink and white pedestal arrangement, which we placed in the church for the service on 15th August. We also created a matching hand tied bouquet which we took to the RAF Care Home as a gift in memory of her father.
Afterwards we received this lovely message from Yvonne.
You surpassed our fondest dreams and expectations with the WONDERFUL arrangement that you made for Sunday’s service at the Trinity Methodist Church. It really made my anniversary. Also the arrangement you took along to the RAF Home. I’m sure it will give them joy in their Common Room. THANK YOU for that, too!
We are most grateful to you for your diligence and understanding in these special circumstances, especially at such a great distance.
It was a pleasure doing business with you. I shall always remember you. If I ever need flowers to be sent locally, I will definitely call on you.
With best wishes sincerely,
