Flowerwise Storrington is a family run florist in the heart of Storrington. The shop is jointly owned and run by Pat and Emma. Pat lives locally in West Chiltington and has been in the florist industry for over fifty years. Although she is not in the shop much now she still helps run things.
In 1961 she completed a floristry course at the "Constance Spry Flower School" in London.
After working alongside her father and at a florist in Croydon for a short time Pat took over her first florist shop in Addiscombe.
In 1964 she married Andrew who became equally involved with everything floral and in 1969 designed the Flowerwise logo which has always been used with the Flowerwise name and is pictured below.
Pat and Andrew went on to take over the running of Pat's fathers' shop in Sutton and another very successful Flowerwise in Banstead. Pictured below is the shop in Sutton in the 1960s before it became Flowerwise.
Andrew also grew flowers and foliage including Chrysanthemums, Dahlias, Sweet Peas and Eucalyptus in Newdigate, Surrey where they lived for over twenty years.
In 2008 Pat bought "Flowercraft" in Linfield near Haywards Heath. She spent several years there improving it and has now handed over the reins to her son and daughter in law.
Emma is Pat's daughter and runs the shop day to day. She trained for two years with her eldest sister, Hilary, who owns Flowerwise in Cranleigh. She has been at Flowerwise in Storrington since it's opening in 2014 where she has trained with Pat.
Pat's second daughter Vanessa is also a trained florist who works part time two days a week she has had plenty of experiance working with Pat as well as running Flowerwise in Epsom with Pat's youngest daughter, Marion.
We have recently employed a new member of staff, Katheryn who is here on Fridays and is training.
Emma's daughter Anna is our newest member of the team. She has just turned fourteen and helps out on Saturdays and in the holidays. She will also soon be putting her social media skills to use sorting out an instagram page for us, watch this space.
